Summary
An Andalusian inventor has designed a new blade model for horizontal axis wind turbines. This blade is formed by an elongated body, bent 90 degrees at the leading edge, with a plurality of small blades of the same height as the leading edge, arranged transversely. This will create an airfoil blade, with a plurality of channels in the side facing the wind. The inventor is looking for a technical cooperation agreement, to satisfy specific needs.
Full description
The invention proposes a new blade model for horizontal axis wind turbines. This blade is formed by an elongated body, bent 90 degrees at the leading edge, with a plurality of small blades of the same height as the leading edge, arranged transversely. This will create an airfoil blade, with a plurality of channels in the side facing the wind. With this blade design, turbine can be smaller, and more efficient, keeping all advantages of current turbines. In this new blade, a plurality of channels catch the wind. In each channel the wind flow is deflected 90 degrees and directed toward the trailing edge. This process maximizes the flow pressure on the inner face of the leading edge, thus generating rotating torque on each turbine blade.
Innovative Aspects
This blade is applicable in the wind turbines of horizontal axis, that consisting of a rotor actuated by the wind, and can replace, without making major changes, in current wind turbines with conventional blades.
The blade can be rotated on its axis to reduce the area facing the wind, and structural strength can also be high.
