Full description

The partner sought must have expertise in the mechanisms by which a laser cut a polymer and the factors which may influence as molecular structures, end groups, residual monomer, molecular size, etc. The partner sought should have as well the ability to cut with laser to speed up trials.

In the market several companies are producing cast acrylic sheets and each one has a different behaviour. A possible starting point for the research could be the analysis of the relationship between the molecular composition and the laser cutting quality on different materials.

Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
The partner sought should compare different methacrylates and find out which differential factors improve the laser cutting properties of the material.
